BIOGRAPHY
Lesedi Steven Jnr. Mthembu also known as Inferno was born April 28, in Johannesburg, SA where he still currently resides. He became quite art and musically orientated which moved him to write verses and rap it aloud which people quickly noticed. At tender age 10 He took the role in being part of a stage production which had him showing his rapping abilities as one of sleeping beauties 7 dwarfs which inferno which inferno played a rapping dwarf. Upon hearing him at this spectacle people saw a talent in him which they compared or likened to the rapper Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park who quite coincidentally was Inferno’s favourite rapper. He accepts this as an acknowledgement but adds that he has his own African element.
Inferno started taking writing rap lyrics on his diaries, homework books seriously at age 10 in 2006 when he showcased it to his uncle Rival-Ace, who he looks up to and might share what he argues only a distinct inevitable similar sound, upon hearing him rap on a beat he’d made Rival-Ace was convinced and convinced Inferno that in 5/6 years he’d be well on he’s way to becoming a lyrical genius.
At the current age of 17 he pushed his career after finally deciding he’d peruse this career without it being in the way of school. September 2012 Inferno decided he’d take it a step further and start on the early stages of what will be a great an incredible debut mixtape on which he’d finally showcase to the world what’s being kept secret in South Africa’s Kempton Park. Hopefully to be released mid 2013 or before December inferno works out when he can in the studio perfecting it.
He came out in January 2013 with the mixtapes first piece/taste which was a track entitled “Stick With Me” taken from Kendrick Lamar’s O(verly) D(edicated). This track showcased Inferno’s ability to flow which predominantly sums up his style of rap with of course lyrics with good intellect and meaning.
He’s had some online radio exposure with many more to come. Inferno approached African promoters as he believed in movement in the African music industry the first to have replied was Think Ghana Music Group which solely pushes Ghanaian and African artists, Think Ghana had told him that they like his single “Stick With Me” and would push him to the African countries they cover, this being inferno’s step to his music career. Much to his excitement he started off with his music profile to submit and then he’d kick off his step of becoming Africa’s best rapper.
Upcoming gigs are now only a few steps away.
Inferno promises to bring Africa and the world talent and lyricisms that rivals your favourite rapper/MCee. He Raps and is a songwriter “writing all my thought of tracks from day 1” he adds. Kempton Park, where he was raised and did his schooling was predominantly of Rock music loving people so he experienced different genres.
Represented by Casting and Model agency KingKlip he’s a rapper that’ll not shy away from the camera and is loved by it. Inferno wishes to “…show the world I can be the best!”
